Project: Technical Assistance to the Energy Regulation System of BIH, Europaid

Place: Bosnia and Herzegovina

• Provide technical specialist assistance in developing the principles of Quality of Service Regulation in Electricity sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina
• Assist the Regulatory Commissions to design an initial data-collection methodology or mechanism that allows the Commissions to begin to select and collect data and information to measure different characteristics of quality of service over time and across different regulated companies in the electricity sector
• Assist the Regulatory Commissions to establish a set of feasible and challenging performance targets in quality of service commensurate with current pricing regulation approaches as well as with possible future changes to incentive-based pricing regimes

Analytical work looking at gas supplies and capacities in Eastern Europe

• This project included great research on the gas infrastructure in the region,
• Analysis of sources that could satisfy the actual and future gas demands.

European Commission (DG TREN)

• Led the gas sector aspects of a major project analysing the impact of the 2004 EU Enlargement on the European energy markets
• Prepared a high profile study into the development of gas trading after implementation of the EU Gas Directive
• Reported on issues during development of the first Gas Directive and recommended solutions

Comparison of Carbon Emissions between different types of fuels

• For an international energy company, advised on carbon emissions and energy supplies to the Channel Islands

Gas Demand and Tariffs Analysis

• The project consisted on analysing the impact of Bukhara Pipeline Demand for the next 20 years for the region. 
• Gas Balances and Tariffs in Kyrgyzstan were studied in the North and South Region to determine clearly the production, transit and transport volumes.

• Research and analysis of data related to energy markets in Europe and worldwide.
• Very closely work on the development of the European Gas Model.  Based on this optimisation model gas players could analyze all the aspects of the liberalisation of the market.
